The Role

What you'll do on assignment.

As a travel MFM/high-risk OB sonographer, you perform detailed anatomy scans, fetal growth assessments, cervical length measurements, and specialized Doppler studies for complex pregnancies. Your imaging supports perinatologists managing conditions like preeclampsia, IUGR, placental abnormalities, and multiple gestations.

Travel MFM assignments typically place you in maternal-fetal medicine clinics, high-risk OB practices, or hospital perinatal units. You may image patients referred for abnormal screenings, advanced maternal age, or pregnancy complications requiring serial monitoring.

Because Cuready specializes in sonography, your recruiter understands the difference between routine OB scanning and MFM-level imaging. They fight for assignments that match your actual clinical expertise and subspecialty training.

Training & Education

Your path to the field.

From accredited OB/GYN sonography programs to high-risk perinatology — what the professional journey looks like for MFM sonography.

Your recruiter knows this pathway.

Because Cuready is built by healthcare professionals, we understand what each credential means and how to match your training to the right assignments.

MFM sonographers typically complete a CAAHEP-accredited diagnostic medical sonography program with OB/GYN concentration. Programs include coursework in fetal anatomy, obstetric pathology, and Doppler assessment alongside clinical rotations in OB and MFM settings.

The primary credential is RDMS (OB/GYN) from ARDMS. Additional certifications in Nuchal Translucency (NT) and fetal echocardiography significantly expand assignment opportunities in high-risk perinatology practices.
