The Role
What you'll do on assignment.
As a travel medical laboratory scientist, you perform diagnostic testing across hematology, chemistry, microbiology, blood bank, urinalysis, and molecular diagnostics departments. Your results directly inform clinical decisions — from confirming infections to matching blood for emergency transfusions.
Travel lab assignments typically place you in hospital core and reference laboratories. You may rotate through multiple bench departments within a single contract or specialize in a high-need area like blood bank or microbiology depending on the facility's staffing gaps.
Because Cuready understands healthcare professionals, your recruiter knows the difference between a generalist bench rotation and a specialized blood bank assignment. They match you to positions that align with your bench experience and ASCP certification scope.
Why Cuready
Your specialty, our expertise.

Training & Education
Your path to the field.
From accredited MLS/MLT programs to ASCP board certification — what the professional journey looks like for medical laboratory science.
Your recruiter knows this pathway.
Because Cuready is built by healthcare professionals, we understand what each credential means and how to match your training to the right assignments.
Medical laboratory scientists complete a NAACLS-accredited MLS program (Bachelor's degree) or MLT program (Associate's degree). Programs include coursework in clinical chemistry, hematology, microbiology, immunohematology, and molecular diagnostics alongside clinical rotations in accredited laboratories.
The primary credentials are MLS(ASCP) or MLT(ASCP) — awarded by the American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification. Specialty certifications in blood bank (SBB), microbiology, or molecular biology are available for subspecialists.
