The Role

What you'll do on assignment.

As a travel interventional radiology technologist, you assist with minimally invasive image-guided procedures including angiography, biopsies, drainages, stent placements, and catheter-directed therapies. You operate fluoroscopy and DSA equipment, manage sterile fields, and support interventional radiologists throughout complex cases.

Travel IR assignments typically place you in hospital IR suites, hybrid OR/IR rooms, or outpatient vascular access centers. You may assist with neuro interventions, vascular embolizations, port placements, and dialysis access procedures.

Because Cuready understands imaging professionals, your recruiter knows the difference between a high-volume academic IR suite and a community hospital angio room. They match you to assignments that align with your procedural experience and comfort level.

Training & Education

Your path to the field.

From radiography foundations to interventional specialization — what the professional journey looks like for interventional radiology technology.

Your recruiter knows this pathway.

Because Cuready is built by healthcare professionals, we understand what each credential means and how to match your training to the right assignments.

IR technologists typically begin with a JRCERT-accredited radiography program, then gain procedural experience through clinical rotations or on-the-job training in IR suites. Coursework in vascular anatomy, pharmacology, and sterile technique is essential for IR specialization.

The base credential is ARRT (R). The post-primary ARRT (VI) — Vascular Interventional Radiography certification — demonstrates specialized competency. Many IR techs also hold CI (Cardiac Interventional) credentials.
